Detailed introduction

Electrophoretic coating is a coating method in which particles such as pigments and resins suspended in an electrophoretic fluid are oriented to migrate and deposit on the surface of one of the electrodes by using an external electric field. This is the actual construction process used for water-based paint. It has the advantage of making flexible changes in various processes and has attracted people's attention. What is the equipment composition of electrophoretic coating? A brief introduction is given below.


Electrophoresis coating equipment consists of electrophoresis tank, stirring device, paint filter device, temperature adjustment device, paint management device, DC power supply device, cleaning device after electrophoresis coating, ultrafiltration device, baking device, spare box, etc.


1. Tank: According to the different conveying methods of the workpiece, the storage tank is divided into two types: boat-shaped storage tank and rectangular storage tank. Generally, boat-shaped tanks are suitable for continuous electrophoretic coating production lines, and rectangular tanks are suitable for intermittent vertical lifting electrophoretic coating production lines.


2. Circulating stirring system: The circulating stirring system is divided into two parts: internal and external circulation. The function is to ensure the uniformity of the composition and temperature of the paint solution in the entire electrophoresis tank, and prevent the precipitation of paint solution pigments.


3. Electrode device: The electrode device is composed of an electrode plate, a diaphragm cover and an auxiliary electrode.

4. Temperature control system: Electrophoretic coating temperature is generally 20-30 degrees. When the temperature is higher or continuous production, the temperature of the coating solution will increase significantly. In order to ensure the quality of the paint film, the paint liquid must be cooled, which can be cooled by circulating ground water, cooling tower cooling or forced cooling by a freezer. In winter when the climate is cold, heating is required. Heat exchangers include jackets, serpentine tubes, flat-plate and tube-and-tube types. In addition to the jacket structure, other heat exchangers can use the circulating pump of the external circulation system. The paint solution is cooled or heated through a heat exchanger.


5. Paint replenishment device: The replenishment device is composed of paint replenishing tank, electric stirrer, filter and infusion pump, etc. It is set near the electrophoresis tank and is connected with the electrophoresis tank by pipes and valves.


6. Ventilation system: For the continuous-pass electrophoresis tank, a top ventilation device can be used, which is composed of an exhaust hood, a centrifugal fan, and an exhaust pipe. For the vertical lifting electrophoresis tank, generally only the tank side ventilation method can be used.


7. Power supply device:


a. Grounding method: There are two types of grounding: cathode grounding and anode grounding. Anode grounding can be divided into electrode grounding and tank grounding.


b. Power-on mode: The electrophoresis power-on method has two methods: the workpiece is energized into the tank and the workpiece is energized after entering the tank.

After electrophoretic coating: After electrophoresis on the workpiece, the unelectrolyzed coating solution will be brought out when leaving the electrophoresis tank. It must be rinsed with water, otherwise it will make the coating film rough and even cause the "re-dissolution" of the deposited paint film, which will make the coating film less protective. The washing method can be divided into direct washing, single-stage circulation washing and multi-stage circulation washing. After electrophoretic coating, the water washing equipment has two types of immersion type and spray type. Sometimes these two types are combined to improve efficiency.
